Wang Chen, male, Han nationality, is a native of Beijing. He was born in 1950, and joined the work force and the CPC in 1969. Wang graduated from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
In 1995 Wang became editor-in-chief of the Guangming Daily and later held the same position at People's Daily, where he later became president.
Wang Chen was a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and is currently a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee. He is also Director of the Information Office of the State Council.
